Ment Therapy

.

Hi, I’m Emily!

M.A in Marriage and Family Therapy

I received my undergraduate degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Wisconsin Madison and earned my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. I’ve been privileged to have spent the last 10 years working with women, families, and children. I’ve worked primarily with families experiencing homelessness. This work gave me a deep respect for and understanding of how trauma, grief, and mental illness can profoundly impact individuals and their loved ones. These experiences shape the foundation of my current therapeutic practice, where I focus on helping others heal from the inside out.

My approach: The ethos behind my practice stems from my unwavering belief that every person deserves a life filled with meaning and fulfillment. Change begins when we not only understand something intellectually but also feel it emotionally and viscerally. I believe the first steps toward healing happen within the secure attachment of the therapeutic relationship. You deserve to feel seen, heard, understood, and valued with love and compassion. Once a foundation of safety is built, we can work together to develop skills, explore tools, and nurture resilience to help you face life’s challenges. My professional and personal experiences have deeply shaped my commitment to practicing with an affirming, inclusive, and socially conscious lens.
